- It's a FRISKY DISCO with Corey TuT spinning a saccharine sweet-n-sour mix. Go-go by Matthew Camp (Thanks, UBERMENSCH!) and a surprise blast from the past. Oh the suspen(is)e!
- Mr. Rafferty and the boys of SPANK want to take you on a three-hour tour...if you have a ticket already, that is. If not, SPANK BOAT PARTY is SOLD OUT kids! What will you do!? Oh. Maybe go to the SECOND release party next Thursday at the Hose! Yeah. That.
Maybe it's always been this way, but I feel like it's particularly true these days that Chelsea=Bears and this weekend, all the Bears wanna do is wear speedos?!
- Not only do they like speedos, they're SO hot right now there's an actual CLUB you can officially join! Not sure what the dues are, but my friend Chauncey D is DJing the METRO BEAR NY SUMMER BEACH PARTY, taking place - naturally - at View Bar and involving ribs & wings. I love me some Chauncey and support anything he does, so...fat/hairy/skinny/otter/cub/platypus/egret/whatever?...go!
- MORE Bears! Get in on the ground floor...sorry...basement, as a new kind of man party (with an old reference for a name) takes off. Robert Valin and DeMarko (who's celebrating his birthday.) kick off KAKE at the Chelsea Hotel.
- Finally (and most enduringly)...just down the street and back down some stairs...the original "man party" for glammabears and their ilk, SNAXX, is back for one more Friday after tonight before it takes its annual summer season hiatus through August.
SATURDAY...
Hamptons -
- The lovely Greenberg sisters (Hey girls!) are displaying their wares to fine affect (no doubt) at their TULESTE TRUNK SHOW at Alice + Olivia out in the land of fancy-pants. There's bubbly, too! MMmmm!
- Joe Fiore and DJ Billy Carroll take us back to Paradise...Garage with DANCE 208: GARAGE CLASSICS Summer/Larry Levan's Birthday Edition. This one's always a crowd pleaser!
- Mr. Casey is celebrating the 38th anniversary of his birth puttin' (it) on (at) THE RITZ. Come help him do it (up) right.
- Chaz Requina and Jason Pants of Palms Out Sounds are djing at the inevitably utter madness that will be SECOUSSE UK VS. BK. This is gonna be some VOO-DOO shit, ya'll!
- Meanwhile...and no doubt as equally mad...Vice Mag and Colt 45 (they're everywhere!!) present THE DEATH OF LIVEFASTDIE, LiveFastDie's purported last show ever. It just sounds cool.
- Last week I said Mr. Sosa repped Lady Rizo but I lied! The truth is he's booking and promoting all the events at Galapagos Art Space now and this week has put together another amazing FLOATING KABARETTE that includes Matt "Sealboy" Fraser...a category/"type" I forgot to include earlier. Sorry sealboys everywhere!
- Disco Connie and Jeff Jackson present their annual ode to all things Summer. Donna Summer! At this month's DOUBLE-HEADED DISCO they're promising to WALLOW in it with epic 20 minute or more tracks non-stop! Hey Giorgio!
- In my work hood (for all you travelers and open bar enthusiasists) Public House (41st btwn Lex and 3rd) hosts an hour long OPEN BAR - ALL liquors! - for MyOpenBar.

Governors Island -
- After running them through a quick wash cycle to get the rib sauce out, the Bears are pulling their banana hammocks back on and hitting the Governors Island Water Taxi Beach for BEARS ON THE BEACH. This time, it may actually be sand that ends up filling their trunks...
- Tom O'Ireland is moving west but is putting lots of his prints up for sale first. Come enjoy complimentary wine and pick up a piece or two at the $5 ART SALE/GOING AWAY PARTY and help he, Raphael and the dogs get to Cali.
- One of the most hotly anticipated SUNDAY BEST's is this Sunday at BKLYN Yard with Detroit's Omar S. Catch him now and say you knew about him when.
- Making this a day of tough decisions for bears, 3rd Ward is hosting it's 2ND ANNUAL PIG ROAST & DANCE PARTY where 200 lbs of hog will be transformed into delicious pork tacos that can be washed down with FREE (from 4 to 5pm) Colt 45 (See??).
- The Bears lumber straight from beach (or BBQ pit) to hot tub (careful emptying those suits, men!) at TRUCK STOP at The Park.
- A few steps away, Matt Tratner's celebrating his annual 30th at GARDEN OF ONO this Sunday. Come share a drink with me, wish him well and wish Ladyfag "Bon Voyage" as she readies to jet away for a real vacation for once.
MONDAY...
Dirty Jerz -
- Newly leaderless and (ostensibly) vulnerable, Jerzey's being invaded by that eternal shit-stirrer/trouble-maker (and proud of it!), Michael Formika Jones and crew (Hey DJ Adam!) under cover of visiting the Mountain Creek Water Park. The bus for SOAKIN' WET leaves EARLY, so pretend you've got a day job and join the morning commute before flipping all the Suits off, hitting the showers and then suitin' the flip up for some water slide wedgie fun!
A HEAD...
- Boys, Boots & Beards with Michael T., Ricardo Studmuffin, Alon/Zoltar, Shaquanda Coca Mulatta and yours truly, is back at HUGS in fair Billyburg next Friday, July 31st. Come squeeze in one last good time before the month ends.
