Weekender

***Special Note (Week 2)***

Paul Vitale is living upstate for the summer and is using his time to raise money for medical research on Alzheimer's Disease. He's going to walk the Memory Walk on September 26th and run the Rochester Half-Marathon and is raising donations through both at his Donation Page
he's created to make it easy for us all. Visit soon and help him meet his goal.

FRIDAY...

West Village -
  • Start the weekend with Mr. Williamson for some civilized cocktails and conversation (in direct proportion to the number of the former consumed). Hit Gusto for your PRE-GAME. No matter what you drink, though, keep it cute! Russ remembers all...and there's a good chance you'll see him later in the weekend...
Chelsea -
  • Mr. Valin and DeMarko invite you to have your KAKE and eat it (all?...out?) too. Join them in the basement of the Chelsea Hotel.
East Village -
  • Astro Erle, Cody Ravioli and crew celebrate the one year anniversary of SALON BORDELLO with hors d'ouevres from 8-10pm! Classy bitches!

  • Carmine/DJ Big Ragoo's CLEAN is just around the corner at Lucky Cheng's Voodoo Lounge. Mr. Dailey and Mr. Ralston co-host so you know "clean" is relative (I mean that in the nicest way, of course, boys!).
Williamsbergendurgen -
  • Mr. Furlong loves THE BUNKER at Public Assembly. This week, MUTEK present Musique RIsquee Showcase in the back room.
Fashion District -
  • Give Daddy (a/k/a Johnny Dynell) some love for his birthday at GARY 49. The SPANK boys join him to...well, you know (they're hand's are gonna be SORE!). Happy Birthday, Daddy!

SATURDAY...

Carroll Gardens -
  • B.E.M.F. - (Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival) is at the Old American Can Factory today, literally just down the block from me. Live sets from 30 something(?) DJs - including the Juan Maclean - and an open beer bar from 4-6pm.

Red Hook -
  • Join the boys in the park to watch a little GOLDEN GIRLS and raise some money for SAGE (Senior Action in a Gay Environment).
Lower East Side -
  • For your queer live music experience, hit the monthly QXBXRX
East Village -
  • It's that time of the month...PLANET ZiZMOR 4 is back at The Hose for another dance-off to space dizco. We're gonna BRING IT with the costumes this time...I'm actually scared. Be ready!

SUNDAY...

West Village -
  • Mr. Williamson hosts a sumptuous brunch at Centro Vinoteca with two pre-fixe options: $35 for you lushes or $20 for those who practice moderation, both include two courses. Just make sure you drop his name at the door or hit him up before you get there to take advantage of this special menu. So...WAKE UP BITCH! (and eat something)
Carroll Gardens -
  • BKLYN Yard hosts Motor City Drum Ensemble this week at SUNDAY BEST. After BEMF on Saturday, Brooklyn is getting more than its fair share of amazing DJ performances this weekend. Don't Sleep!
East Village -
  • Make your mom happy (potentially) and go to SUNDAY SCHOOL...Broke Straight Boys Edition *ahem*.
Governors Island -
  • Ricardo's your contact for the guest list for VICTOR CALDERONE live on Governors Island.
Meatpacking District -
  • This Sunday may be a bit confusing, but I'm gonna try and clear it up.

Much of the usual crowd at GARDEN OF ONO is moving uptown for a new party at Hudson Terrace - (ROOF)TOP. Ladyfag, Malik So Chic and Matt Tratner continue as hosts with Junior Vasquez DJing and Claudio Braz added to the hosting mix.

Back at The Gansevoort, however, Jordan Fox and I hold down the fort as construction continues (and the liquor pours).

SO...if your eye is easily attracted by all that's shiny and new, head up for a drink and a dance with my lovely Lady and crew. On the other hand (or additionally? Hey...it's a long night and I'm right on your way!), if you're all about an easy, relaxing time in a great location where you can bask in the sun and enjoy this great weather, come get a drink from the handsome Mr. Grimm and find me on the patio (or vice versa. there's likely to be pitchers involved!).

East Village -
  • Keeping it real Eastside style, Mr. Sparber, Mr. T and Ms. Simpson are the remedy (or the source) of your LOVE HANGOVER.
West Soho -
  • As always, join Lady and Desi down at VANDAM for a truly great Sunday night time...now with DJ Will!

MONDAY (now)...

West Village -
  • Mr. Duman is recruiting. Tonight is open play at BIG APPLE DODGEBALL so come try it out and potentially play for his team.

Carroll Gardens –
  • Mr. Schmich is back and forth between bar and waiter, but - with your support - is looking to take the bar full-time and make FONDLE his own (so to speak). Fondle or be fondled every Monday at South Brooklyn Pizza.

ONGOING...

Park Avenue -
  • SUMMER STREETS takes over Park Avenue and connecting streets from Brooklyn Bridge to Central Park (76th Street) the next three Saturdays - making it a pedestrian and biking mall.
Chelsea -
  • NAKED (and SIZE MATTERS) are two shows at Paul Kasmin Gallery 'til Sept. 19th that you'll want to see...well, if not both, you'll definitely want to see one.
